Software Developer - COBOL PEP+

Position Description

What does a great PEP+ Software Developer do?

As a Software Developer on the ACH Outsourcing Team, you will work on our industry leading banking applications supporting our clients? PEP+ ACH Outsourcing Environments.

What are some of the basic responsibilities for this role?

  • You will perform product design, bug verification, release testing, and support system implementations which may require research and analysis
  • You are responsible for the technical aspects of daily production and test system support for multiple PEP+ environments
  • You communicate with staff as well as customers related to the support of their PEP+ system
  • You participate in 24 x 7 on-call rotation and apply documented procedures (i.e. FACETS, Functional Specifications, Technical Specifications, and Change Control) methodology for all tasks.

What are the required and preferred qualifications you need for consideration?

  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3 + years? experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2 required
  • Source Management Tools (like Endevor), Transmission Tools (FTP, Direct: Connect), Job Scheduling (CA7) required
  • Experience in Application Production Support environment
  • PEP+ processing required, preferably including: Database interrelationships; Batch functions; architecture; User Exits; Expanding PEP+ internal tables / file sizes; restarts and recovery; I/O; Processing using Logical Views; fine-tuning; output handling; installation using EPPREP; modules (Risk, Prefunding, Early Warning System, ASAP, Dual Verification)
  • Detailed understanding of NACHA rules and regulations preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
