Position Description

What does a great Information Security Architect, Advisor do at Fiserv?

You?ll be focused on providing security architecture standards, governance, guidance, and design services to enterprise wide projects.

Additionally, you will be responsible and accountable for providing day-to-day project oversight to ensure security architectural specifications to protect the business services applications and supporting infrastructure are implemented.

You?ll possess strong cyber security expertise and depth, to provide develop technical security architecture specifications and standards. You?ll collaborate with other architects and project managers across the organization. The Lead / Sr. Security Architect is able to design security controls using standard methodologies, guidelines and security frameworks. You?ll ensure that security architecture controls are integrated into systems as they are being designed to appropriately safeguard critical information assets, mitigating system exposure and risk. On a typical day, you?ll work with the business units to ensure security architecture requirements, guidance, and standards is embraced and deployed by all businesses and supporting infrastructure leaders across the enterprise. Position requires a deep understanding of ISO, NIST, GLBA, PCI, FFIEC and GDPR requirements. Experience with public cloud is required and experience with identity is highly desired.


-  Assist the business in the implementation of security reference models, policies, standards, and governance while providing architectural direction and roadmap to technical stakeholders across all enterprise wide technical environments.

-  Lead the development of security architecture specifications for assigned projects while ensure consistency across business unit projects.

-  Design security capabilities into complex infrastructure and business applications.

-  Evaluate current security architecture deployed for business units and provide mentorship and technical specifications on modifications to mitigate risk and the effectiveness of controls.

-  Provide subject matter expertise on action plans, leadership and governance in deploying architectural improvements without impacting services.

-  Advise management on handling and minimizing threats. Stays informed on the latest developments at a global scale which may impact current systems.

-  Maintain security roadmaps for assigned environments.

-  Ensure security architectural requirements are being adhered to; recommendations are embraced and deployed.


Proven ability to work under stress/pressure to meet deliverables, timetables and deadlines.

-  BS in computer science, information security, information technology or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience.

-  Minimum 6 years? experience in a commercial IT global environment supporting financial services in a security architectural role.

-  Personal integrity and high ethical behavior at all times to inspire confidence in clients, peers, partners and employees.

-  Knowledge of different infrastructure platforms, development lifecycles, networks, operating systems, sub-systems, and third-party controls to mitigate an evolving threat landscape using adaptable, diverse, layered security controls.

-  4+ years of recent security architectural role experience at a complex international organization

-  Ability to effectively communication skills to collaborate with peers and business partners

-  Ability to train and coach colleagues to advance their security architectural vision, strategy and roadmap.

-  Experience navigating complex business environments spanning multiple data centers and applications.

-  Solid grasp of cyber security threats, risks, vulnerabilities and attacks, to include threat actor motives, capabilities, and techniques, with the ability to mitigate through tried methods and new countermeasures.

-  Ability to interface, influence and communicate with all levels of management, industry organizations, and clients.

-  Ability to work independently and a strong self-starter.

-  Demonstrating an ability to work under stress/pressure to meet deliverables, timetables and deadlines.

-  Knowledge of ISO27000 series, NIST SP 800 series, NIST Cyber Security Framework, PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, HITRUST, and FIPS or other information security framework policies, procedures, guidelines, and methodologies desired.


Master?s or Doctorate degree is preferred.

-  Desire one or more industry InfoSec related certification(s) (i.e. CISSP, CISM)

-  Travel: up to 5%

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
