Interventional Radiology (RN)


We are looking for team players and people who want to learn something new everyday. This is a dynamic environment that is unique to the Atlanta Area. No other Neuro program in Atlanta does the volume or variety of procedures as the Vascular Institute.


Service Lines:


-Body IR:
Quantam Radiology - TIPPS, Trauma, Spyglass, CVLs, PTC, G/GJ tubes, and more.


-Endovascular:
VSA -EVAR/TEVAR/TCAR, Extremity angiography, Thrombolysis, and more. Aortic Center of Excellence.


-Neurointerventional:
Wellstar - STROKE, Coil Embolizations, Flow Diverters, and more. We have an extensive Neuro program with high volume and are a comprehensive stroke center.


Functions under the direction of the Site Manager. He/she is responsible for performing a wide variety of clinical procedures requiring independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. The registered nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of age specific needs. Addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and patient/family education needs in providing care to the patient and family. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions


  • Clinical Skills
    Completion of V-ARU competencies
    Provide pre and post procedure care of patients for invasive, interventional and surgical procedures
    Able to use critical thinking skills
    Able to deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem patient care situations
    Prepares and may administer contrast. Understands preparation/administration of doses according to patients' weight and physician order
    Administers conscious sedation per system policy and procedure
    Preps the patient for procedure
    Demonstrates and understands sterile technique
    Demonstrate IV administration competence and maintenance
    Prepares trays and catheters for procedure
  • Quality and Patient Safety
    Verifies patient ID using 2 patient identifiers, ie. Armband, DOB, verbal identification
    Verifies front of patient chart for same/similar name sticker
    Verifies Written Order, seeks clarification is unclear
    Understands and complies with verbal order RBAC and performs necessary follow-up with written order
    Uses and understands preprocedural verification/time out form when appropriate
  • Job Responsibilities
    Must be flexible with hours to meet department needs
    Able to work scheduled and On-Call hours if necessary
    Knows existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly and is dependable, cooperative and emotionally stable.
    Introduces self to patient and/or guardian upon entering room utilizing proper scripting
    Transports patients as needed
    Provides privacy and comfort for patient/customers
    Assists with maintenance of departmental records, Joint Commission standards, State and Federal Regulations and Performance Improvement
    Completes necessary paperwork
    Answers department phone using proper scripting
    Completes chart reviews as needed
    Performs QA/QC functions as needed
    Assists in other Medical Imaging areas and as needed in other departments in the system, system wide
    Maintain current successful completion of BLS and ACLS
    Understands Scope of Service for Vascular Institute, VARU and Medical Imaging
    Assist in inservice/training for other Medical Imaging staff as appropriate
    Reviews case with the appropriate physician(s) as needed.
    Recognizes that total patient care starts when the patient arrives at our facility and ends when the physician/patient have the imaging results.
    Meets Service Recovery and Customer Service Guidelines as needed.
    Reviews the case with appropriate physician(s) as needed
    Coordinates daily schedule of patients
    Maintains checking the crash cart in assigned Medical Imaging areas.
  • Patient Education
    Responsible for patient, family/support system education
    Provide post procedural home care instructions as needed.

  • Qualifications
    Required Minimum Education
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved School of Nursing. Required
  • Required Minimum Experience
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience in either ICU, CCU, ED, IMCU Required and
  • Minimum 1 year peri-operative nursing. Required
  • Required Minimum Skills
  • The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude.

  • Reg Nurse (Single State) Required
  • RN - Multi-state Compact Required
  • Basic Life Support Required
  • BLS - Instructor Required
  • BLS - Provisional Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required

  • ACLS - Provisional Required
  • Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • Current NIHSS certification Required

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
